There are government sponsored programs that encourage practice in medically underserved areas by offering
student loan repayment assistance. Individuals interested in loan repayment should obtain information from
the responsible agencies. Contact information is shown below.
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic encourages all candidates for employment not to base their employment
decision solely on the expectation of loan repayment.
The employee or candidate interested in loan repayment is responsible for requesting an application from
contacts listed below. The Clinic does not have loan repayment application forms available. Application
forms change annually, so only the current one will be accepted.
The Clinic annually applies for loan repayment opportunities on a site-by-site basis, specifying which
disciplines are needed. As these "slots" are awarded on a competitive basis criteria that
can change from year-to-year, the Clinic cannot promise that a loan repayment opportunity will be available at a future time.
The Clinic can endorse a candidate for loan repayment, if a loan repayment vacancy is available or becomes available, and
can promise to apply for a slot. But YVFWC cannot promise NHSC or Washington State loan repayment to any individual.
